This policy explains when returns and refunds are available for purchases made on the Cypher marketplace.
Cypher is a marketplace platform. Items are sold by independent sellers. Cypher may mediate disputes in accordance with this policy.
1. Eligible Reasons for Refund
Refunds may be approved only under the following circumstances:
a) Item Not Delivered
- Tracking does not show confirmed delivery, or
- The order was shipped without tracking and was not received.
b) Item Misrepresented
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Incorrect condition (e.g. listed as Near Mint, arrives Moderately Played)
- Wrong card, edition, language, or printing
- Undisclosed damage, wear, or defects
- Fake or altered cards
c) Item Damaged in Transit
- Damage that occurred during shipping due to improper packaging
- This includes bending, cracking, moisture damage, or loose packing
Cypher is not responsible for carrier handling errors when an item was packed appropriately.
2. Refund Ineligibility
Refunds are not available for:
- Buyer’s remorse or change of mind
- Price fluctuations after purchase
- Items delivered as described
- Damage occurring after delivery
- Minor print or factory imperfections disclosed in the listing
3. Dispute Timeframes
Buyers must open a dispute:
- Within 7 days of confirmed delivery, or
- Within 7 days of the expected delivery date for untracked shipments (approximately 15 days from the ship date)
Disputes filed outside these windows may be denied.
4. Evidence Requirements
Cypher may require:
- Photos or video of the item
- Photos of packaging materials
- Screenshots of tracking information
- Comparison to listing photos or description
Failure to provide reasonable evidence may result in denial.
5. Seller Response Obligations
- Sellers are expected to respond promptly and professionally.
- Sellers may issue refunds directly via the Seller Dashboard.
- Refusal to resolve valid claims may result in Cypher intervention and seller penalties.
6. Cypher Mediation & Refunds
If a seller refuses a valid refund:
- Cypher may issue a refund on the seller’s behalf
- Funds may be deducted from the seller’s balance
- Associated payouts may be delayed or offset
Cypher’s decision is final and binding, subject to a limited appeal process.
7. Returns (When Required)
- Cypher may require an item to be returned in certain cases.
- Buyers must ship returns within 5 business days of approval.
- Returns must include tracking.
- Return shipping costs are typically the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise determined by Cypher.
8. Abuse Prevention
Cypher reserves the right to:
- Deny claims that appear fraudulent or abusive
- Limit refund access for repeat offenders
- Suspend accounts engaged in misuse of the refund system
9. Appeals
Appeals must be submitted by contacting support@cyphertcg.com within 5 business days of the decision and must include supporting evidence.
